Citymeals

Citymeals on Wheels, is a long-respected New York-based charitable organization whose mission since 1981 has been to deliver weekend, holiday, and emergency meals to New York City’s most vulnerable population, its homebound elderly. It is Acker’s honor to support Citymeals on Wheels, which, in a typical year, delivers over 2 million meals to more than 18,000 New Yorkers. Resolute in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization has exceeded its regular output, delivering more than a million meals since March alone, serving an additional 40,000 recipients in need. As New York’s senior centers closed and the risk of leaving home amidst the health crisis became too great, Citymeals became the primary food source for this significant population.
