The Tremblays inherited their vines from Edouard Jayer, uncle of the great Henri Jayer. In 2003, Edouard’s great-granddaughter, Cécile Tremblay, took over the Domaine, moving to organic certification and biodynamic practices and employing partial whole-cluster fermentation. Her Grand Cru Chapelle-Chambertin is quickly becoming one of the most coveted cult wines in Burgundy, and her Premier Cru Feusselottes is the sleeper in the portfolio.

Tremblay’s Chapelle is from a small parcel divided between Chapelle’s two lieux-dits, La Chapelle and Les Gemaux, and the vineyard sits right below Clos de Bèze. This is a wine of great detail and complexity, leaning towards elegance rather than extraction. The inner core of dark fruit balances out the vibrancy of the wine. The Premier Cru Feusselottes includes some of Cécile's oldest vines. This is a complete wine that balances minerality and silkiness, resulting in the perfect expression of the finest Chambolle-Musigny.

Although the prices are already high, this is still considered an “insider's" Domaine. The wines are incredibly balanced, showcasing a beautiful expression of terroir with a core of bright fruit on the mid-palate reminiscent of Henri Jayer’s wines. This is Burgundy for the true aficionado. Given how hard these wines are to find, we are thrilled to offer such an extensive vertical.
