Joseph Drouhin founded the company in 1880, but it was his son Maurice who started buying vineyards in 1918. Maurice was an important figure in Beaune. A member of the INAO (Institut National de l'Origine et de la Qualité) and the deputy administrator of the Hospices de Beaune, Maurice also had a distribution company which represented Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. At one point, he had the opportunity to buy a share in DRC but was unable to take advantage of it. Maurice’s son, Robert, took the helm in 1957, and now his children—Frédéric, Philippe, Véronique, and Laurent—are in charge of the company.

The Joseph Drouhin style marries balance, harmony, finesse, and character. Clearly, the wines of Drouhin are among the greatest and most age-worthy in Burgundy. We are honored to have this retrospective of one of the most respected houses in Burgundy with vineyards and contracts stretching across the region.

This will be an exciting opportunity to enjoy a stunning selection of delicious terroir-driven aged Burgundy back to the 1960’s.
